Ten youngsters from Woodhouse Close spent months talking to bird breeders and owners on the estate?s two allotment sites before making the film called Going for Gold Pigeon Pete Circumnavigates the World. They were presented with awards and certificates when they showed the movie for the first time. Eddie Latcham the chairman of the Tindale Crescent Homing Pigeon Society made the presentation at the community centre on Proudfoot Drive. The project is part of the Woodhouse Arts Programme coordinated by Jane Crawford from Daisy Arts. It is funded by Wear Valley District council through the Wear Valley Local Strategic Partnership which gave £34500 to the arts programme from the Safer Stronger Communities Fund.
