In an effort to raise public awareness and to prevent the lossof more species BirdLife has launched a campaign to find 47 lostbirds. There are 9856 species of birds in the world 12% of which faceextinction. f those facing extinction 192 are listed ascritically endangered the highest extinction threat rating. Some birds reported lost have not been sighted for over 180years others have been see as recently as 1984.
